Research

My subjects, I find them in my environment. That it is the characters that landscapes: my close relations, the nature surrounds me, a voyage, a walk, are for me sources of inspiration.

The pencil, the notebook of sketch, the camera in pocket, I am always with the research of a face, of an interesting light, a small event of the daily life, of a corner of nature, of a particular environment.

Moment of life

My watercolours are often witnesses the one fugitive moment of my life, they are built on memories or impressions which are expensive to me: the day or the children found a small chickadee, the construction of a snowman, an old man crossed with the corner of a street, one evening at the restaurant, one strolls downtown or in forest...

Inspiration

Often working with several photographs or sketch, I create my page layout by mingling my feelings with it. By the choice of my subjects I contribute to bring a more personal character and inner to my watercolours. The emotion corresponds to an essential need, raw material of my inspiration, engine of my imagination.

Simple subjects

All that surrounds us is pretext with painting, the simple things are sometimes most interesting, they are with the range of all.
Influenced by the flow of the seasons, my landscapes of winter are carried at this period, I impregnate myself external environment in order to retranscribe it more naturally in my painting. In the same way, I will be tempted to reproduce flowers in spring.

Leave room to imagination

The painter in watercolours must also learn how to refine, I understand by there knowing to keep the essence of his composition, useless to overload of a multitude of details which do not bring anything to the tableau. The effect returned by the mixture of water and the pigments, must with him only let imagination roam.
